"Zina's story is a fascinating story of faith, perseverance, and determination. She is an ongoing testimony of the power of God to walk with us through the most difficult situations and lead us to a place of triumph. Zina shows us all that regardless of what happens to us, we don't have to be victims. We can find victory in our weaknesses and hope in our suffering. Her undying faith, her authenticity about her struggles, and her gift of encouragement inspires all who know her and her story." --Sharon Gibson, Creator of the "How to Write for Fun and Profit" online course and author of From Stuck to Success

Have you ever had something catastrophic happen, changing your life in an instant? Did you wake up in a hospital, not knowing where you were or how much time passed? It happened to me. I never thought I would be hit by a car while crossing the street to get to my friend's bus stop on my way to school.
It's a miracle from the Lord that I'm alive and able to walk. My spine shifted and broke. I had a fracture in my first cervical vertebra, and a broken femur. The bones of both lower legs were broken, and that wasn't all. I underwent an immediate twelve hours of emergency surgery and was paralyzed.
My young life seemed to have reached its end. But God had a plan. I went from being a popular teen to being alone. It was a season in my life where all I had was God. I clung to Him for life. I knew I'd be a burden. I knew the visits from friends would lessen, and calls would fade. Life would go on for everyone; mine came to a halt.
God has sent angels to help. My nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Regina, bought me my first Bible as a birthday gift. A man named Dennis, with whom I worked at a local fruit market before my accident miraculously performed a healing work on my left arm. It was stuck at a 90-degree angle from the crash.
If God didn't heal my arm through Dennis, I never would've gotten up on parallel bars. I never would've been able to use crutches as I do now. Imagine trying to get up on bars or walk with walking devices with an arm stuck at 90-degrees? It's not possible. Dennis, through the power of prayer, performed a healing work on me.
Today I am able to teach English to foreigners who are here on business assignments or to students who simply want to improve their English. I look at my students in admiration, and thank God that he sent them to me. In tragedy, crisis, and unbearable pain. I have experienced triumph, glory, and undying faith.
